Tattoo afterCare

SCROLL DOWN

Second Skin (Derm Shield), Saniderm, etc

If your tattoo was wrapped with a second skin bandage, it can be kept on for 2-4 days. You can shower normally with this bandage on but do avoid submerging under water.  Blood and fluids may pool under the bandage, this is completely normal though and not a cause for concern (if it continues to leak feel free to remove it early). Afterwards remove the bandage under warm running water, slowly peeling downwards from the edges. Continue following the standard aftercare instructions below.

Standard Aftercare

The most important part of aftercare is to keep it clean and moisturized. Wash your hands before touching your tattoo. And use fragrance-free soap and lotions. Do not scrub your new tattoo with anything abrasive while cleaning your tattoo.

Make sure that you use a moisturizing lotion at least once a day (twice would be better) with a NON-SCENTED lotion such as Lubriderm, Aveeno, or Cetaphil. Apply a thin layer of lotion and massage it into the skin.

LIST OF DO NOTS!

  • Never peel, scratch, or pick at your tattoo.

  • Don’t use Vaseline, A&D, or skin ointments while your skin is healing.

  • Try not to expose your tattoo to long periods of direct sunlight.

  • No pools, lakes, or long baths.

It takes two weeks for the tattoo to “heal” but can take longer for the skin to fully regenerate. Most importantly though is that you enjoy your new tattoo if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to email us at info@chessclub33.com.
